Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Grant Provides Meals to Children Every Day at School

Pastor Joseph and Roussemie, the founders an operators of “The Center of Refuge Orphanage”  also have a school in the old orphanage quarters in Jacmel, Haiti. Through a grant from the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) 120 school children, including cooks, teachers and administrators are fed a meal of rice and beans at school, every school day. Ministry In Mission partnered with Trinity Hope, an organization that provides meals to 18000 in schools across Haiti, to feed the children  at Joseph and Roussemie’s school. The program is extremely well run. Alex Moise, president of The First Lutheran Church of Jacmel, was hired  by Trinity Hope to administer the program at a number of schools in the Jacmel area.

Trinity Hope has been doing this in Haiti since 1999. The Holy Spirit was extremely active in bringing this about. During a Ministry in Mission  missionary trip to Haiti, Trinity Hope missionaries stayed at the John 3:16 Guesthouse . Jackie Rychel was introduced to Keith Logan from Trinity Hope and a partnership was made. Even before the meeting a grant had been submitted to LWML to provide meals for Haitian children. Again, God brought the right people, with the right resources at the right time to provide food for a Christian School.
